• Humann Principal again a Future City Competition – Judge

Our Principal again was asked to contribute to the success of the Future City Competition for the 2013-2014 middle school year as a Lead Judge.  The annual event will occur on Saturday January 18th, 2014 at the Northwest Career and Technical Academy.

The competition’s is described within program materials as:

“The Future City Competition is a program designed for 6th, 7th and 8th graders to foster an interest in math, science, engineering, architecture, and construction through hands-on, real-world applications. The students create and design a city of the future by engaging in the planning, engineering design and building process – identifying problems, brainstorming ideas, designing solutions, testing, retesting and building, and finally communicating their results.”

Each year, one specific theme is highlighted for the essay portion of the competition – this year’s essay topic is “Tomorrow’s Transit – design a way to move people in and around your city”
